Cécile Cuny is a French illustrator and animator based in Brussels.

Girlsandparks is the name of her drawing world, populated by characters distinguished by their large eyes, which are her signature style.

Rather than using cuteness for its own sake, she uses this trait to evoke empathy and emotional connection, both in her work for children’s books and for the press.

She combines her inspirations with vibrant and pop-inspired colors to create playful, dreamlike depictions of everyday life, where it feels as though the usual rules do not apply.

Cécile is originally from Agde, a seaside holiday town in the south of France, which is why she sometimes sneaks a few dolphins into her illustrations. When she returns, she enjoys wearing Crocs, ice cream, and childhood nostalgia.
